Everything you need to know about writing a manuscript

Have you ever wondered why are abstracts called “abstracts”? Do you have trouble deciding what to include in figure.1 of your paper? In this workshop, Dr. Yiu (senior editor of Device at Cell Press) will share tips on how to write and submit a scientific paper, and how to increase the visibility of your research. He will also briefly present and explain the journal ecosystem of Cell Press in the physical sciences, such as the scope of Chem, Matter, Joule, and Device. Learn the basics of writing a research paper and test your ability to spot bad languages on Oct-16!

Managing Author Profiles to Demonstrate Your Research Impact

Maintaining accurate, consistent, and connected profiles is essential for visibility, citation accuracy, evaluation, networking, and meeting funder and publisher requirements.

In this practical workshop, you will:

  • Get hands-on experience creating and optimizing widely used author profiles, including Scopus Author ID, ResearcherID (Web of Science), Google Scholar Profile, and ORCID.
  • Learn actionable tips for maintaining and syncing these profiles - standardizing your name and affiliations, linking profiles to each other and to your outputs, consolidating duplicates, and updating works - so you can demonstrate your research impact across platforms.
