About the speaker

Sou Si-tai 蘇思棣 


Sou Si-tai is the Chairman of the Deyin Qin Society of Hong Kong. He studied the xiao and dizi under Wong Kuen and the guqin under Tsar Teh-yun. He performs frequently in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan, Europe and the United States. His many recordings include “Le pêcheur et le bûcheron / The Fisherman and the Woodcutter” in which he plays his own handcrafted instrument and for which he received the Coup de Coeur award from the Academie Charles Cros in France. He recorded “The Sound of Antiquity” in Hong Kong with an instrument  made during the Song dynasty (960–1279).
