Online renewal

How to renew items online?

1. Go to HKUL Homepage and click “MyAccount@HKUL”.

2. Login with your HKU Portal/ library card number and PIN. Find out more about login FAQ.

3. Click on the “LOANS” tab or “VIEW ALL LOANS” tab to display all checked out items.

4. Select desired item to renew or click “RENEW ALL” to renew all items.

5. A new due date will be display if renewal is successful.

My Favorites

Save records

To save a item, click  on the right of the record. To access my favorites, click  on the top right corner.

Set up Alerts

 

1.       After you have done a search, click “Save query”.

2.       To set up alert, click “Turn on notification for this query”.

 

Circulation record status

Status

Description

Action

On loan untill DD/MM/YYYY hh:mm:ss

Item is currently checked out by you

You may renew the item via Find@HKUL when the item is due soon.

Hold. Not Started. Place in queue is (no. of queue)

Item is reserved by another user and you are in hold queue.

Wait for user to return the item or Check the availability of the book owned by other UGC libraries and place; a HKALL request if the item is available in other libraries.

Hold. In Process

Item is being processing and will be on holdshelf later

Wait for the email or SMS notification for item collection.

Hold. On holdshelf until DD/MM/YYYY

Item is placed at holdshelf until DD/MM/YYYY and you can pick it up until DD/MM/YYYY

Pick up hold item at 2/F Self-service collection room.

Lost

Item is assumed to be lost

Return at Lending Service Counter if you own the item or Pay the replacement fee for lost item

HKALL. Request sent to partner

HKALL request is sent to the lending library

Request is successfully placed and you may check the latest status in MYACCOUNT@HKUL.

HKALL. Ready to be sent /HKALL. Shipped Physically

A HKALL item is in processing stage

Wait for the email or SMS notification for item collection and you may check the latest status in MYACCOUNT@HKUL.

HKALL. Physically received by library

HKALL item is sent to HKUL and you can pick it up

Pick up hold item at Services Counter at branch libraries or Main Library.
