Official Sources

The Federal Legislation Portal (Portal Perundangan Persekutuan) (click to visit)

This Portal provides all subsidiary legislation made under federal laws commencing from 26 April 2011, with all legislation passed by the Parliament from March 2011 until the present. Selected documents are available in both Malay and English, while some are only available in either language.

Please note from 26 April 2011, this Portal has been commencing to be the first official Gazette published to the public.

The Official Portal of Parliament of Malaysia (click to visit)

Providing enriching documents on the making of law in Malaysia, you can find Hansards, current and historical records of Order Papers and etc. Materials can be traced back to the first Parliament held in 1959. However, contents are mostly reported in Malay, with no official English translation provided.

Treaties

The United Nations Treaty Collection includes a large number of treaties of different countries. Here, you may find treaties of Malaysia via its depositary, with status of it and relevant historical information.

You can also visit the Official Portal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia for more details of the application and updates.

HKU Libraries' Resources

Being one of the biggest legal databases covering Malaysian legislations, more than 2,000 legislations from Federal, State and Municipal sectors can be found on this platform, dating back to 1900s. Check out the video below on how to search for legislation.

 

To access full archive of cases with summaries and headnotes, you are reminded to obtain login information via the path indicated in the FIND@HKUL record. HKUL Authentication is also required via login to your HKU Portal account. 

 

Westlaw Asia (click to visit)

Federal Constitution, Principal Legislation, Amendment Legislation and Subsidiary Legislation are available via Westlaw Asia, with keyword search and browsing through year and title.

Lexis Advance Hong Kong offers Unannotated Statutes of Malaysia, including Amendments, Bills, Pre-1967 Ordinances and etc.

With promotion to the free access of legal information, a wide range of resources can be easily found here with categorized of subjects and materials. For instances, legislations, parliamentary documents and treaties of the country. AsianLII also works and connects with WorldLII and CommonLII in presentation of resources.
