Publish your articles in open access at no cost in eligible journals

Dear Researchers, 

Good news! The Libraries has signed new transformative agreements to help HKU authors publish research articles in open access.

From 2025, during the agreement period, when publishing in the eligible journals with the following publishers, corresponding authors affiliated with HKU can publish your articles in open access at no cost for you!

• ACS (Limited free APC credits; Coming soon)
• Bioscientifica
• De Gruyter (Selected journals only)
• Elsevier (Limited free APC credits; Selected hybrid journals only)
• Oxford University Press (Selected hybrid journals only)
• Rockefeller University Press
• The Royal Society
• SPIE

If you are asked to pay for Article Processing Charges (APCs) when publishing in the eligible journals, please directly communicate with your editor and make sure he/she is informed of the agreement before making a payment.
