Join us for an engaging seminar, "Publishing with the Microbiology Society and Editors Spotlight: Meet the Scientists Behind the Journal of General Virology," featuring Prof. Paul Durplex, the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of General Virology since January 2020. This journal, with over 50 years of history in publishing peer-reviewed research, is dedicated to supporting the global virology community through collaborations with partners like the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV). During the seminar, you will gain insights into the diverse and evolving field of virology, spanning research on animal, plant, insect, bacterial, and fungal viruses, as well as molecular biology, immunology, and virus-host interactions. Discover what it takes to publish impactful research and hear directly from the scientists shaping the journal's contributions to this vital area of microbiology.

We are excited to invite you to the upcoming event "Can you beat the bot?" offered by Professor Dawei Wang, an assistant professor from HKU Business School. This is the first session of the AI Literacy for U series: From Smart Learners to Empowered Leaders

This engaging workshop will introduce you to “Beat the Bot” (BTB), an innovative web application designed to help you understand and enhance your individual creativity through generative artificial intelligence (GenAI). It will offer practical insights into the interplay between human and artificial creativity. Whether you’re a student, researcher, or simply curious about AI, this event will be of significant interest to you. After completing this session, you will be able to: 

  • Learn about your own creativity 

  • Learn about GenAI’s creativity 

  • Learn how to collaborate with GenAI
