Library Breaks are a series of events dedicated to fostering a sense of student care within the HKU Libraries. To cultivate a warm and inclusive atmosphere on campus, collaborating with the Tin Ka Ping Education Library, we are going to offer diverse activities and events for students to participate in and connect with each other.
The Make a Wish! Event took place at the Tin Ka Ping Education Library from April 19, 2024 to May 24, 2024. During the event, a Wishing Tree was set up to inspire users to share their aspirations for the future. Adjacent to the tree, there were writing materials and other complimentary souvenirs available for visitors to take home as a token of appreciation.
In partnership with the Centre for Sports and Exercise, two mindfulness sessions called Exercise is Medicine at HKUL (EIM@HKUL) were held. These sessions took place on May 2, 2024, and May 9, 2024, in the Seminar Room on the Ground Floor of the Main Library. The primary objective of these sessions was to improve participants' strength and balance through gentle yoga practices, offering a moment of relaxation amidst the hectic examination period.
From December 7, 2023, to January 16, 2024, an interactive Mood Board has been installed at the Tin Ka Ping Education Library, providing students with an opportunity to express and share their emotions. Accompanying the board are a variety of stickers, pens, and other souvenirs that students can freely take home as mementos.
