The Music Library has housed original publications for complete works editions, also known as collected editions. They are edited scores of western composers. The complete works editions are published over a wide span of years; it can be one volume at a time and/or it is not in volume-number order. Musicologists are the editors of these editions, who judge and edit every single piece based on original manuscripts and primary sources. Complete works editions can be used for reference when you need to write academic papers or to perform a piece of work.
