CrossRef and DataCite
By authorizing CrossRef and DataCite to link with your ORCID profile, you could enjoy automatic updates for your ORCID profile. ORCID has a collaboration with CrossRef on providing auto-updates for new publications, which means once you have published a new paper or article with a DOI minted, it would be automatically updated onto your ORCID profile. The below figure shows the auto-update process:
You may perform the authorization simply with 2 steps:
Step 1:
Login to your ORCID profile. Under “add works”, select “search & link”. Choose “CrossRef Metadata Search” and “DataCite” from the list.
Step 2:
Press on “Authorize access”.
