SEN Support

Learning Environment

To align with HKU campus accessibility, the Libraries have constructed accessible entrances and gates, which provide easy access for all SEN students.

In the Main Library, tactile paths are built to guide directions. All lifts are equipped with braille signage. Accessible toilets with braille signage are available.

Branch libraries also provide accessible entrances and gates. For further assistance, please contact the individual service point directly.

Deep Quiet Room

The door to the Deep Quiet Roon on level 3, Main Library

A Deep Quiet Room is set up on Level 3, Main Library. The 7 study tables in the deep quiet room are available for reservation on short loan ranging from 4 to 5 hours.  The deep quiet room is strictly for reading and study only and, therefore, does not allow the use of computers or audiovisual equipment. Reservation for the study tables in the deep quiet room is open to eligible library users.

The Deep Quiet Room offers a study environment that is free from noise distractions, better suited to sound-sensitive students with conditions like autism, ADHD, and anxiety, allowing them to focus without external sound distractions.
