General Information

The Epson large-format colour printer makes use of print large documents and images such as posters for academic conferences or events, artwork, maps, structural designs, signage, photos, and others. It can print on matte or glossy paper and is up to 36 inches wide.

Eligible Users

This service is available to current HKU faculty, staff and students by appointment only.

Guidelines

  • This service requires payment in advance and is available up to one hour before the Media Services office closes.
  • Design your poster at the exact printing dimension.
  • The maximum print size is 84.1 cm x 118.9 cm.
  • The default colour for printing is CYMK.
  • Send or bring your file with your preferred paper type and size.
  • Printing a poster takes about 5 to 20 minutes. 
  • Use large images. Small, low resolution images from the web will be pixelated when printed.
  • Once the print job has started, changes cannot be made. Library users are responsible for the cost of that print job plus the cost of any subsequent/altered prints.
  • The library reserves the right to decline a printing request or cancel a printing job if the object may infringe the copyright or contain abusive constituents.
